I used this thing less than 10 times before it broke. That alone is bad enough. But this thing leaked mineral oil all over my hands. If you make the mistake of buying this thing, be ready to mop up the mess it makes. I can't even have the satisfaction of taking a sledge hammer to it. It would just make a bigger mess. This is the worse purchase I have made on Amazon. These guys are very lucky that I once bought a copy of the DVD "Severed" in the bargain bin at a dollar store. That's the only thing keeping this from being my worse purchase ever.

After messing around with neat battery operated gauges that never seem to work after the first battery dies, I decided to step up to a professional manual gauge. Works beautifully, the end of the hose rotates, so it is super easy to fit it on the valve correctly the first time to take a reading. The large dial is easily read, and the reading stays until you decide to press the release button to reset. This is the ONE. Quality product.

If you're the kind of person happy to pay a premium for high-quality, precision tools, then this is a good choice. Every part seems to be carefully chosen, with one exception:

- The ball chuck swivels for easy access without having to twist the hose around and seals well against tire stems.
- The hose is clearly high-quality, very flexible without kinking.
- The bleed valve makes it easy to reduce pressure in small increments.
- The pressure equalizer makes a measurable difference, and should make readings more accurate, though I don't have anything I trust more to compare against.
- The gauge is large, precise and easy to read.
- The needle movement is clean and precise with no "rattle", as can be expected with a liquid-filled gauge.
- The air bubble in mine seems especially large, but it makes no difference to the operation of the gauge.
- The rubber case seems like a good idea, but I still wouldn't want to drop this thing, especially since...
- The gauge face seems somewhat flimsy. I would expect tough boro-silicate glass but it seems to be plastic. Perhaps it's an extremely tough and flexible plastic but I don't trust it.

It's surprisingly hard to find a good pressure gauge. Digital gauges are everywhere but I don't trust them, and I've gone through a number of dial gauges from Sears, etc., that turned out to be cheap crap. This should be the last one I buy for a long time.
